Colorado interim legislative committee on ozone holds first meeting

At the Colorado state Capitol, the Legislative Interim Committee on Ozone Air Quality met for the first time today. Created by a new law, HB23-1294, the committee will meet between now and the start of the 2024 legislative session. The group of legislators is tasked with investigating the factors that contribute to the ozone pollution that’s harming Coloradans’ health, considering different strategies to tackle  the problem and developing policy solutions to make our air safer to breathe.

CoPIRG is thankful for legislators’ time and work on this critical issue and hopes they will identify solutions across multiple sectors – from oil & gas, to transportation, to lawn & garden and more – so we can cut the ozone that’s harming our health as quickly as possible.
