This spring there have been several state-level legislative wins on our work to ban toxic PFAS. Most recently, Colorado passed a comprehensive bill that will require companies to stop using PFAS chemicals in different consumer products including carpets, furniture, cosmetics, juvenile products, some types of food packaging, and the fluids used in oil and gas production. This bipartisan bill (HB22-1345) is one of the most comprehensive bills addressing PFAS use and contamination in the country and will help to turn off the tap on toxic “forever chemicals” in Colorado.
