Tell your U.S. senators: Lower costs, more transparency
We need hospital prices before we receive care. And we have to end medical billing that unnecessarily drives up our costs.

Price transparency helps patients plan for their medical expenses and contest billing errors.
Too often, patients are shocked by the medical bills they receive. Although there are ways to contest or lower your bill, there is no replacement for simply knowing the price up front. When we pay our insurance premiums, we know the monthly total. When we go to the grocery store, the prices are in plain sight. But in a hospital or doctor’s office, there’s no telling what the cost will be.
We need to change this. Price transparency helps patients plan for their medical expenses and contest billing errors. It also preserves competition so insurance companies can negotiate better prices. We need to protect patients and put an end to the guesswork when it comes to health care costs. Patients need upfront health care prices, and it’s time we got them.
