UFCW Local 1500 Welfare Fund v. AbbVie, Inc. amicus brief
On October 12, 2020, U.S. Public Interest Research Group filed with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals an amicus brief in the case of UFCW Local 1500 Welfare Fund v. AbbVie, Inc. The brief argues that AbbVie’s strategies of reverse payment settlements and the creation of “patent thickets” for their block-buster drug Humira have delayed the entry of competing biosimilars, costing the government, payors and consumers billions of dollars.
