Just in time for New Year’s, we’ve added a couple of new resolutions to consider as scams get more sophisticated. This is a two- to three-minute read on ways to help boost your finances and protect your personal information.
New to the list:
- If you want to contact a company’s customer service department, say a bank or airline, remember to never just do an online search and click on a link or call a phone number without verifying you’re on a legit website. Scammers increasingly are setting up imposter websites with copycat logos.

Remember, and remind your loved ones, that gift cards are for gifts, not to pay bills, taxes or legal fees, or to get discounts on other purchases.
