Learn how Oregon elected officials voted on key public interest issues
OSPIRG
Today, OSPIRG released its scorecard for the 2018 Oregon Legislative Session. The scorecard showcases Oregon lawmakers’ votes on key public interest issues, ranging from addressing the rising cost of prescription drugs to maintaining a free and open internet.
Key votes covered in the scorecard:
• Free credit freezes (SB 1551)
• Prescription drug price transparency (HB 4005)
• Transparency in Oregon’s Medicaid program (HB 4018)
• Net neutrality (HB 4155)
“Oregon lawmakers took important, bipartisan steps to advance the public interest in 2018” said Charlie Fisher, OSPIRG State Director. “But critical work remains unfinished. The 2018 Legislative Session ended without action to address the influence of big money in politics. State lawmakers also repealed Oregon’s landmark tax havens law, which cracked down on corporate tax evasion.”
