Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell recognized MASSPIRG Education Fund’s Consumer Action Center’s work resolving consumer complaints, praising the leadership of the office team,  Jeanne Foy, Director and Laurie Thornton, Assistant Director.

Working  in cooperation with and funded by  the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, the MASSPIRG Consumer Action Center in Weymouth resolves disputes between consumers and businesses through negotiation, advocacy and education.

We cover a wide range of issues including rent and evictions; travel and event fees and cancellations; health club and gym fees; automobile sales and repair; home improvement transactions; debt collection and credit problems, among other consumer issues.

Since 1989, the CAC staff have fielded 52,000 consumer questions, mediated 23,000 complaints and returned more than $6.1 million to Massachusetts consumers.

There are no fees for our service.  We take complaints from residents living in:  Braintree, Brookline, Canton, Dedham, Dover, Hingham, Holbrook, Medfield, Milton, Needham, Newton, Norwood, Quincy, Randolph, Rockland, Walpole, Wellesley, Weston, Westwood, and Weymouth.
