The Chicago Committee on Environmental Protection and Energy is holding a hearing on Monday, November 6th to evaluate the impact Peoples Gas record rate hike request will have on Chicagoans. Alderperson Conway submitted a resolution to bring the proposed rate hike under review.

The Committee will be able to ask direct questions of People Gas CEO Torrence Hinton and a panel of experts, including Abe Scarr, Director of Illinois PIRG. We are asking the Committee to share the findings of this hearing with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) and call on the ICC to decrease the rate hike and establish oversight on Peoples Gas’ wasteful spending.

With the final decision on the Peoples Gas rate care quickly approaching, join us to further expose the affordability, health, and environmental issues the rate hike will exacerbate.
