Incorrect pot markings can cause pots to be overfilled

Best Buy has recalled about 930,000 Insignia Multi-Function Pressure Cookers because the pot fill markings are wrong and that could cause hot contents to shoot out and burn people, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced.

The erroneous volume markings on the inner pot can lead consumers to put in more food and liquid than the pot will hold safely when it’s heated and under pressure.

The Minnesota-based retailer has received 31 complaints of contents spewing out unexpectedly. In 17 cases, people reported burns, including some second-degree and severe burns.

Various models are included in the recall. Consumers with one of the defective models shouldn’t use it; Best Buy will provide a new inner pot and floating locking valve at no charge. Customers should contact Best Buy by phone at 888-359‐4485 or online at https://www.recallrtr.com/pc.

The small appliances were sold nationwide from October 2017 through June 2023 for $50 to $120 through Best Buy and Amazon.

Consumers who have difficulty getting resolution
for any recalled product
