More states are passing bans on PFAS in consumer products: Massachusetts should be next
As Colorado joins a growing list of states banning toxic PFAS in consumer products, MASSPIRG joins public health, environmental and community groups in calling in Massachusetts lawmakers to do the same.
Exposure to PFAS, a large class of toxic chemicals, increases our risk of of cancer, immunosuppression, birth defects and other diseases.
To date, 124 public water systems in 81 cities and towns – from the Berkshires to the Cape have tested above the new legal limit of PFAS contamination.
