Panera Bread CEO Jose Alberto Duenas,

We deserve to know that the food we buy is good for us, our families and our communities. But the use of antibiotics in meat production is creating serious problems for our health.

That’s because the routine use of antibiotics on livestock gives rise to antibiotic-resistant bacteria that can cause deadly infections in humans.

By allowing antibiotics in your meat supply, you’re increasing the chances that the farms that supply meat for your sandwiches will become the epicenters for deadly antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

We are urging Panera to re-affirm itself as an industry leader by eliminating routine antibiotics from your meat supply chains to protect public health.
