In Massachusetts, we’re sending almost two million tons of waste to landfills and incinerators each year. According to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, in the United States, food is the single largest category of material placed in municipal landfills, where it emits methane, a powerful greenhouse gas.

By reducing food waste and composting the rest, we can have a healthier, more sustainable Commonwealth. Please pass regulations to divert all food waste from disposal.
