Take Action: Clean Energy Homes for Chicago

We know we need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, especially when we have cleaner, healthier alternatives. We have all the technology we need – like efficient electric heat pumps that both heat and cool our homes, and induction stoves that perform better than gas stoves – to power our homes with 100% clean energy.

After six years of record profits and pushing through the largest rate hike in Illinois history, Peoples Gas is trying to raise our rates even more. Chicago households could save an estimated $11,000 – $24,000 over twenty years by switching from gas to electric.

The Clean, Affordable Buildings Ordinance would save Chicagoans money and reduce harmful air and climate pollution through a plan for cheaper, cleaner, and safer ways to heat and power our homes.
