VICTORY: Colorado adopts clean truck rule

Today the Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) voted to adopt the Advanced Clean Trucks and Low Nitrous Oxide (NOx) rules, marking a major step forward for transportation electrification and air quality. These rules will collectively incentivize the sale of medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles while reducing NOx emissions by 90% below current standards for model years 2027 and beyond.

“The Advanced Clean Trucks Rule will open the door for business owners and fleets to go electric by creating more and better options for medium and heavy duty electric vehicles,” said CoPIRG public health advocate Alex Simon. “Colorado business owners will be able to capitalize on the fuel and maintenance savings offered by electric vehicles while reducing air pollution and improving community health.”
