Clean air

Strengthen the state’s plan to clean up our air now

Dear Air Quality Control Commissioners,

I’m asking you to add additional actions to the state’s ozone pollution plan, or SIP, to ensure we meet EPA air quality standards.

For over a decade, Coloradans living along the Front Range have been exposed to dangerously high levels of ozone pollution. Ground-level ozone pollution can cause or worsen not only respiratory conditions such as asthma and lung damage but also certain cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders. It doesn’t have to be this way.

From expanding transportation options like transit to reducing pollution from the oil and gas or lawn equipment sectors to tackling ozone pollutants that come from buildings and other industries, we have a lot of tools to clean up our air.

We can’t afford to miss the mark again. Please strengthen the state’s ozone plan so we can have clean air in Colorado.

Sincerely,
