Tell your city council: End plastic bag pollution
Banning plastic bags at restaurants and retail stores will reduce plastic pollution
With a dump truck worth of plastic ending up in our environment every thirty seconds, we are in a plastic waste crisis.
As UC Davis student Jenifer Ascoate told the Davis Enterprise last week, “If we continue in the path we are on this could be catastrophic and could be a major problem for the generations of today and the generations to come.”
That’s why student leaders with CALPIRG Students are calling on state leaders to support Assembly Bill 2026 to phase out single-use plastic used in online retail shipments.
This month students are organizing waterway clean ups to highlight the impact of single-use plastic packaging on our environment and organizing their peers to write to and call their state lawmakers.
