CALPIRG student chapters kickoff fall campaigns
The leaves are changing colors, the weather is finally cooling down, and college fall sessions are now in full swing. That also means CALPIRG Students chapters across the state are launching their fall campaigns.
We know young people have the power to shape the future they will inherit, especially when provided the resources to make a real impact. Our CALPIRG Students chapters work with college students across the state and provide the training and professional support they need to tackle climate change, protect public health, revitalize our democracy, feed the hungry and more.
This fall, CALPIRG Students organizers are mobilizing and training students across the state to:
- Run nonpartisan voter registration and Get Out the Vote drives to increase youth turnout this midterm election
- Pass local ordinances to ban single-use plastic grocery bags, foam takeout containers, and other unnecessary single-use plastic items that pollute our environment.
- Promote open educational resources, better price transparency, and other methods to bring down the cost of textbooks.
