Tell Sonic Drive-In: Phase out foam containers

Polystyrene is one of the worst forms of plastic pollution. When it’s thrown away, it doesn’t break down — so every piece ever produced will still be clogging our landfills and polluting our communities decades or centuries down the line.

It also poses a risk to human health. Polystyrene foam packaging can leach styrene, a carcinogenic chemical, into food and drink. No restaurant should be packaging its food and drink in materials that can harm its customers.

To help put a stop to the plastic pollution crisis and protect your customers’ health, I strongly urge you to stop serving food or drink packaged in polystyrene foam containers.
