Tell the FTC: Investigate the company behind this massive AT&T data breach
FTC Chair Lina M. Khan:
More than 100 million AT&T customers likely had information from parts of 2022 and 2023 stolen by hackers in a recently-revealed data breach. The stolen data included phone numbers of people who AT&T customers talked with; the numbers of calls and texts; and the duration of phone calls involving the affected phone numbers.
Every piece of personal data available to hackers and bad actors poses a danger to the impacted consumer. I strongly urge you to open up an investigation into Snowflake, the third party company that owns the cloud platform on which AT&T was storing customer data, and its connection to the breach.
Thank you,
