Solving important issues while educating the public

I grew up in the Netherlands and England before moving to America as a teenager. My first brush with activism occurred in 1956, at age 9 in Holland, going door to door raising funds for refugees from the failed Hungarian revolution against the Soviet invasion.

I support WashPIRG because the issues it tackles resonate with me. I was brought up to respect antibiotics and to minimize their use, and I’m also concerned about the widespread use of the pesticide Roundup. As there is ever more to be done, I like that WashPIRG works to solve important issues while educating the public about them, and is playing an active role on many fronts.
