On Thursday, the House Committee on Appropriations advanced the Fair Repair Act (HB 1392) by a vote of 18-12. The Fair Repair Act, sponsored by Rep. Mia Gregerson, would expand consumers’ access to parts, tools and information necessary for electronic device repair.

On Wednesday, the House Committee on Consumer Protection and Business voted 7-6 to advance the Fair Repair Act (HB 1392). Sponsored by Rep. Mia Gregerson, the Fair Repair Act would make it easier for consumers to repair their personal electronic devices.
Fair Repair Act receives public hearings in the Washington state legislature
Last week, the Washington State Legislature held hearings for the Fair Repair Act (SB 5464/HB 1392), which would require manufacturers to provide consumers and independent repair shops with the parts, tools, and information needed to repair personal electronic devices.
