Today, the Food & Environment Reporting Network (FERN) published an article on The Great Pollen Meltdown — the trend of heatwaves impacting plant growth during reproduction, which impacts pollinators and farmers’ ability to produce enough food. “Every seed, grain, and fruit that we eat is a direct product of pollination,” explains biochemist Gloria Muday of North Carolina’s Wake Forest University in the article.
