The FRA Announces Over $368 million in Grants for Railroad Projects

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) announced the 46 recipients of funding from the $368 million Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant program. This year is one of the program’s largest rounds of funding ever, and the selected projects will repair, restore, and expand our nation’s passenger and freight rail systems.

For example, The FRA awarded $15.9 million to advance a Tampa to Orlando high-speed passenger rail project from this round of CRISI funding. States are eager to build projects like this, evidenced by the $1.1 billion in requested funding.
