Farmers cannot access repair tools needed to repair their own tractors.

A hacker known as Sick Codes presented his jailbreak of multiple John Deere touchscreen models at the DefCon security conference in Las Vegas. Hacking the touchscreens gave Sick Codes access equivalent to that of a certified dealer, enabling certain repair functionality addition to other settings. No widespread jailbreak is currently available.
