Tell the EPA: Reinstate your ban on brain-damaging chlorpyrifos
EPA Administrator Michael Regan,
Exposure to chlorpyrifos has been linked to neurological damage and developmental problems in kids. This pesticide is simply too dangerous to allow anywhere near the food we eat.
The science has been clear for years. Chlorpyrifos was first banned for household use years ago. And in 2021, your agency revoked all food tolerances for chlorpyrifos based on the ample evidence that this pesticide is harmful. EPA research once revealed that children can ingest up to 140 times the safety limit of chlorpyrifos in their lifetimes.
The reversal of the 2021 ban on chlorpyrifos puts kids’ health at risk. I strongly urge you to reinstate a full ban on chlorpyrifos and revoke all food tolerances again.
Sincerely,
