Tell the Federal Government to Reduce the Amount of Single-Use Plastic It Purchases
Our country needs to do everything it can to reduce our consumption of plastic -- and especially the single-use plastics that we just don't need.
Plastic waste has reached a crisis level in our state. Nothing we use for just a few minutes should spend hundreds of years polluting our environment, harming our wildlife, clogging our landfills, and threatening our health. That’s why our team at NCPIRG teamed up with local advocates at last night’s Raleigh City Council meeting to call for local action to reduce plastic waste.
At the meeting, we highlighted the ways in which plastic pollution is affecting Raleigh residents and highlighted two key pathways that city council can take to help Raleigh lead the way in our state’s fight against plastic pollution.
Raleigh residents can take action to support the city reducing plastic waste by signing NCPIRG’s petition here.
