Why I support PennPIRG

I grew up in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and I now live in Pittsburgh with my wife, and I enjoy woodworking in my free time. As a kid, I was a Boy Scout and helped pick up trash on roadways, which introduced me to the problem of plastic pollution. Now, I have kids and grandkids of my own and have become more concerned with product safety and especially toy safety. I also firmly believe, as a part of my faith, that we must protect the Earth.

A PIRG canvasser came to my door at just the right time in my life. The mission resonated with me and I joined in 2009. I’ve continued to support PIRG’s work because I want to help to eliminate single-use plastics, protect the planet and save the bees, and address consumer protection issues.
