Take action: Protect state and local pesticide labeling laws

Re: Docket ID EPA-HQ-OPP-2024-0562

The dangerous health impacts of many of the pesticides used in farms, parks and gardens around the country are well known. These toxic chemicals often pose an unacceptable risk to our health.

States and communities should be able to tailor pesticide labeling requirements to their local environments and situations. Preventing them from imposing more stringent labels than the EPA requires will take away a vital tool states can use to protect their people from toxic threats.

This proposal will also prevent individuals experiencing health impacts due to the risks of toxic pesticides from holding the manufacturers accountable in court unless the EPA specifically required those risks to be printed on the label.

I strongly urge you to reject this proposal and not to preempt state and local pesticide labeling requirements.
