U.S. PIRG consumer campaign director Mike Litt issued the following statement about Wells Fargo’s system failures that started yesterday.

“The Wells Fargo outage is something for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to investigate.

If you’ve been affected by the outage, you can file a complaint with the CFPB. You should also beware phishing scams. Ignore unsolicited requests for account information by email, links, phone calls, pop-up windows, or text messages.”
