MASSPIRG calls for reduction in single use plastics

MASSPIRG Director Janet Domenitz testified before the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on the Environment and Natural Resources as they consider over a dozen bills aimed at limiting the use of a variety of single use plastics; from foodware to bags to containers and more.

“Action on reducing plastics is overdue. The pollution and litter is everywhere, the public –by dint of the 156 cities and towns who have passed local plastic bag bans—is in support, and passing bills that will result in a cleaner and more sustainable Commonwealth,” said Janet Domenitz, Director of MASSPIRG.
