TPIN staff | TPIN

Advocates will highlight the environmental and public health risks associated with gas stoves; demonstrate how induction cooking works; showcase a new library program that lends induction cooktops; and provide tips for reducing harm and cooking safely as Americans gather for the holidays.

In addition, MASSPIRG Education Fund will release the latest from a survey report that finds shoppers aren’t getting the health warning or safety advice they need when purchasing gas stoves at major retailers, including Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe’s.

The public is invited to attend.

When: Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. ET

Where: Robbins Library, 700 Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA 02476, Community Room

Speakers:

  • Deirdre Cummings, Consumer Program Director, MASSPIRG Education Fund
  • Claire Moodie, Mothers Out Front, Arlington Chapter
  • Michele Brooks, Massachusetts Sierra Club
  • Ben Hellerstein, Director, Environment Massachusetts

Mothers Out Front will demonstrate how to use an induction cooktop and provide everyone with warm apple cider. The event will be at the Robbins Library, which lends induction cooktops.
