The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau should keep protecting consumers
The CFPB was created to protect Americans from scams and fraud, and it’s a huge success. The bureau’s enforcement and supervisory work has secured more than $21 billion in relief for consumers.
But this important work can’t continue if the agency lacks the personnel and resources to hold companies accountable and field consumer complaints. Recent firings would have reduced the agency’s workforce to only 200 if a federal judge had not issued a temporary block.
Scaling back the CFPB is something we can’t afford. Please use all of the CFPB’s available tools and resources to continue to protect consumers — not dismantle the agency from the inside.
