The kids are alright
High school students gather to learn skills and advocate for a better world

On Saturday May 24, I had the distinct pleasure of co-leading a workshop with Bart Scheer, a U Mass Amherst honors student and MASSPIRG Students leader at the 2025 Youth Climate Summit. The Summit is hosted by Boston Latin School, where Bart graduated in 2024, and well over 125 high school students were in attendance.
Our workshop, how to run a campaign, drew students with varied levels of experience with activism; but all of whom had curiosity and a desire to learn how to make things happen. On the Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend, you can imagine these students could have easily been otherwise occupied. It was inspiring to be with the next generation of climate activist/problem solver/go-getters.
