Meeting with state legislators
This month Maryland PIRG canvassers and staff have been meeting with key legislative leaders to talk about our new campaign to clean up toxic "forever chemicals" from Maryland's water.
This month Maryland PIRG canvassers and staff have been meeting with key legislative leaders to talk about our new campaign to clean up toxic “forever chemicals” from Maryland’s water.
This work has become all the more urgent sine the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released new guidance on PFAS in drinking water to protect public health, declaring that there is no safe level of some PFAS in water. The Maryland Department of Environment has found toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in much of Maryland’s drinking water.
We’re eager to work with the Governor, Maryland Department of the Environment, and the General Assembly to ensure Marylanders have access to clean water.
