A rowhome exploded in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore less than a week after a similar explosion in Gaithersburg.
A rowhome exploded on Tuesday in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore, critically injuring 3 people and damaging four homes less than a week after a similar explosion in Gaithersburg.
We don’t yet know the cause of the explosion and and investigation is underway. A ruptured gas line fueled the fire and residents reported smelling gas in the neighborhood. BGE and their contractors have been doing pipeline work in the area for a month or so.
In 2020, a gas explosion in Northwest Baltimore killed two people Multiple people were injured when a gas line exploded in Pikesville in 2021.
