How to register to vote/update your voter registration

It’s too late to register to vote online, but if you need to register to vote, you can do so during early voting at any early voting center in your county or on Election Day at your polling station. You must bring proof of address like your MVA-issued license, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and new address. If you need to verify whether or not you are registered to vote, you can do so online. 

How to vote by mail

  1. You can request a mail-in ballot using an online form if you have a Maryland ID.  The deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 1st.
  2. You can also visit your local board of elections and fill out a mail-in ballot request form in person. 

The State Board of Elections website also has an online resource which allows you to track the status of your mail-in ballot

To return your ballot, mail it, drop it off at your local board of elections or put it in a drop box in your county.

Mail-in ballots must be received or postmarked by 8pm Tuesday, November 8th. 

Your voted ballot must be received by your local board of elections by 10 am on November 18, 2022.

 How to vote in person

You can vote early Thursday, October 27th through Thursday, November 3rd between

7 am and 8 pm at any of the early voting locations in your county.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8th. You can vote at your assigned polling precinct anytime from 7 am to 8 pm.  Anyone in line at 8 pm will be allowed to vote.
