PFAS are linked to serious health threats including cancer, and have been dubbed “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down in our bodies or the environment, instead accumulating over time and posing an ever-increasing threat to our health. There’s no time to waste in banning PFAS chemicals.

PIRG is working to eliminate PFAS from consumer products and firefighting foam, from earning corporate commitments to phase PFAS out of their products, to helping pass state laws that ban or restrict PFAS, to recently delivering 48,000 signatures calling on Columbia Sportswear to eliminate PFAS in its clothes.
