Illinois PIRG program and citizen outreach staff delivered public comments to the Illinois Commerce Commission

This summer our citizen outreach office held around 2,000 one-on-one, face-to-face conversations with Chicagoans about our Campaign for Safer, Cleaner Energy – and the opportunity to reform the troubled Peoples Gas pipe replacement program currently under investigation by utility regulators at the Illinois Commerce Commission.

Through our campaign, we collected over 800 public comments from Peoples Gas customers joining our call for reform. We delivered those comments today, handing them over to the Commission Chair Doug Scott, Executive Director Jon Feipel, and the Administrative Law Judge overseeing the investigation, Jessica Cardoni.

Thanks to our hard working citizen outreach staff, and all the Illinois PIRG members and supporters who have so far joined our campaign.

And it’s not too late to join our call. We’ll deliver more comments later this fall – add your name now.
