Illinois PIRG presents oral argument in Peoples Gas rate case rehearing
We encouraged the Commission to reject Peoples Gas' proposal to raise rates by $7.9M
Illinois PIRG and other parties participated in oral argument before the Illinois Commerce Commission today in the limited rehearing of the Peoples Gas rate case. At stake is an incremental $7.9 million rate increase, on top of the record $303 million increase approved last November.
Our attorneys made our case to commissioners to say no to the incremental rate increase, while diving deeper into the troubled Peoples Gas pipe replacement program through its ongoing investigation.
We expect a final ruling in the case on May 30.
