Citizen support plus PIRG’s advocacy equals real solutions on plastic waste, pesticides and more

Here’s a look at the public interest campaigns we’re ramping up in 2023, thanks to the support of people like you.

From toxic pesticides on our food to the growing plastic waste crisis, our country has more problems than we should have to tolerate — and more solutions than are currently being put to use.

That’s where PIRG comes in.

Powered by concerned, informed and active citizens like you, PIRG keeps proving the cynics wrong — by tackling concrete problems, finding practical solutions, bringing people together from all walks of life, and working to get real results.

Thank you for being a part of this movement as we ring in a new year. And there’s still time to contribute to PIRG’s End of Year Drive and help ensure this work can continue in 2023.

When you give to PIRG, you’re fueling the dedicated efforts of a network with a decades-long track record of success addressing some of our nation’s most pressing issues. Here are just some of the campaigns that your support makes possible:

  • Moving beyond plastic by banning the worst single-use plastics, getting major corporations like Amazon to get rid of unnecessary plastic packaging, and holding plastic producers responsible for the pollution their products are designed to become.
  • Banning toxic pesticides by banning dangerous pesticides like Roundup and dicamba unless and until they’re proven safe — just like we helped with a ban on most uses of chlorpyrifos last year.
  • Fighting climate change by ending taxpayer-funded subsidies for the fossil fuel industry, and driving our transition to clean transportation systems powered by renewable energy — building on our success in 2022 to secure the largest ever federal investment to tackle global warming.

We have a decades-long track record of winning effective, pragmatic solutions to our country’s biggest challenges — but we can’t do it without you.

To help make sure that our campaigns have the resources they need to tackle the problems facing our country, will you donate today?

P.S. If you’ve already made a contribution to our drive, thank you for your support! Our system may still be processing your recent gift.
