The NYTimes reports that "When Customers Say Their Money Was Stolen on Zelle, Banks Often Refuse to Pay." We did a report last year on consumer complaints about Zelle and similar apps.

The NYTimes reports that “When Customers Say Their Money Was Stolen on Zelle, Banks Often Refuse to Pay.” We did a PIRG/Frontier Group report last year on consumer complaints to the CFPB about Zelle and similar so-called P2P apps. One difference is that many P2P apps are owned by fintechs, but Zelle is owned by a consortium of the nation’s biggest banks.
