Tell your U.S. House representative: Stop deep sea mining

This bill, H.R. 7636, would vastly expand U.S. support for efforts to exploit the seafloor for minerals.

Critical minerals, including cobalt, nickel, lithium and copper, are needed to manufacture all kinds of technology that improves our lives, from personal electronics to wind turbines and electric vehicles. These minerals are vital — but diving to the bottom of the ocean to source them is about the worst way to source these materials.

Tell your U.S. House representative to oppose new legislation that will open the seafloor up to destructive mining.
