In 2022, Amazon produced 208 million pounds of plastic waste, up 10% from the year before. In the European Union, however, the retailer actually reduced its plastic packaging by 11%.

We know it’s possible for Amazon to reduce its use of wasteful plastics — so why hasn’t it done so here? Convincing Amazon to stop shipping its goods in single-use plastic packaging won’t be easy — but with your support, we can get retailers such as Amazon closer to that goal.
