Tell the FTC: Stop tech companies from selling kids’ data
Right now, there are no rules stopping tech companies from monetizing the data of kids and teens.
NHTSA investigation started after 145 complaints about Civics, then expanded to Integras, CR-Vs and HR-Vs
Honda Motor Co. is recalling nearly 1.7 million Acura Integras, and Honda Civics, CR-Vs and HR-Vs because a steering defect could lead to a wreck. The affected vehicles are model years 2022 to 2025, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall stems from an investigation by the NHTSA following 145 complaints about Honda Civics. The investigation led to other Honda models affected by the steering issue. NHTSA described the problem this way: “The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle … Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.”
Consumers who bought their vehicles from a dealership should be notified by mail in mid-November. Drivers who bought from a private owner or who don’t have contact information on file at a dealership should reach out to Honda at 1-888-234-2138 or through a local dealership.
All vehicle owners should sign up for alerts on their specific vehicle, using their VIN, with NHTSA’s SaferCar.gov app on IPhones or Androids. Or you can look up recalls by license plate or VIN at www.nhtsa.gov/recalls
