Tell the CFPB: Don’t let data brokers buy and sell our personal info
Data brokers are shadowy companies that collect our information without our knowledge and sell it to advertisers, or to anyone else looking to buy. And right now, there are no real rules regulating the collecting, buying and selling of Americans’ data. That leaves us vulnerable to identity thieves, hackers, scammers and manipulative advertisers.
These companies simply shouldn’t be allowed to make billions of dollars every year buying and selling our personal information — often without our knowledge. I strongly urge you to stop companies from collecting unnecessary data about Americans and using it however they like.
