Most of us expect that the products we buy in stores are safe to use. It turns out that’s not always the case with Amazon.
On Aug. 23, The Wall Street Journal released a report detailing more than 4,000 products sold on Amazon (including some promoted as ‘Amazon’s choice’) that are banned, unsafe or mislabeled.
“Amazon is one of the largest, most technologically savvy companies in the world. It has a responsibility to keep Americans safe,” said PIRG Consumer Watchdog Adam Garber. ” “And if Amazon can’t do it, it needs to rethink its whole approach.”
Together with our national network, U.S. PIRG is calling on Amazon to take responsibility for keeping its customers safe and informed.
