This holiday season, we don’t have to load our homes up with new stuff again. Typically, this is the time of the year when the average amount of trash we produce goes up from 5 pounds per day to 6.25 pounds. Despite what pervasive advertisements tell us, Americans have options that don’t involve buying the same old sweaters, socks and sporting goods.

This webinar will discuss how we can reduce our waste this holiday season and into the new year, by reducing our reliance on new materials and minimizing the amount of materials we throw away. We’ll discuss zero waste gift ideas like experiences, pre-loved gifts, repaired gifts and more.

As we shop for the holidays, the gifts we give can support a more sustainable and healthy world and, in some cases, create new memories with our loved ones.

Joining us will be zero waste store Fullfillery, plastic-waste-reduction non-profit Story of Stuff  and “slow fashion” non-profit Remake to talk about how to promote a zero waste holiday. The speakers will also cover how to transform our overall system and what practical steps individuals and companies can use to take action right away.
