On Feb 27, 2025, Triangle Tube and the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of more than two dozen models of gas boilers due to carbon monoxide poisoning risk. The recalled products include Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem condensing gas boilers.

The boilers were connected to two deaths, one in 2015 and another in 2016.

In addition, 25 incidents of carbon monoxide leaks were reported. The boilers were manufactured in Belgium from December 2011 through April 2019 and were sold by wholesale distributors around the country for about $3,400 to $9,700. About 60,000 boilers were sold in the United States, while about 7,500 were sold in Canada.

Consumers who own one of the recalled boilers can call Triangle Tube at 877-574-5036 or visit triangletube.com/products/product-recall/ to schedule a free boiler inspection and get a free repair with a new ignition system if needed.

Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless but hazardous gas. Consumers who continue using the recalled boilers should have a carbon monoxide alarm on each level of their homes and near bedrooms. Triangle Tube will ship carbon monoxide alarms to consumers affected by the recall for free.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is extremely dangerous. More than 400 Americans die of carbon monoxide poisoning each year, with an additional 100,000 visiting the emergency room and 14,000 needing hospitalization. Common symptoms include: headache, dizziness, weakness, upset stomach, vomiting, chest pain and confusion. If you breathe in a high quantity of carbon monoxide, it can knock you out or kill you.

You can reduce your risk of carbon monoxide poisoning by taking a few preventative steps at home.
