Tell the EPA: Protect bees from deadly pesticides

Re: EPA-HQ-OPP-2024-0299

Bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides are killing our vital pollinators.

The EPA’s analysis of pesticides to date hasn’t adequately taken into account the threat to pollinators, and the impact that could have on our food system.

Bees are responsible for one of every four bites of food we take. Wild bee species including endangered bumblebees are important natural pollinators, and can help improve crop yields alongside commercial honeybees. If pesticides drive these bees to extinction or greatly diminish their numbers, we lose those benefits for agriculture.

We urge you to finalize a strong plan to protect endangered species from pesticides, including bees. As the EPA reviews pesticides and now considers endangered species, it should also take steps to restrict the use of bee-killing pesticides.
