Ask Gov. Polis to support more solar, less red tape

Rooftop solar is a critical component of Colorado’s clean energy transition. Locally generated solar energy lowers residents’ energy bills, helps ensure the power stays on, is emissions-free, and allows us to meet the growing demand for electricity.

One of the biggest obstacles to rooftop solar growth is bureaucratic red tape in the permitting process. Putting solar panels on your roof should be as fast, affordable and hassle-free as possible. Cities and counties that adopt “instant permitting” for rooftop solar and battery storage can cut red tape and save people money.

That’s why we’re calling on Governor Polis to continue to stand up for consumers and cut costs by supporting the widespread adoption of instant solar permitting in Colorado.
